About Alexis Thompson
Alexis Thompson, RYT 200
Yoga Teacher
Alexis is a dedicated yoga teacher with a passion for making yoga more accessible to all. Originally from Los Angeles, CA, Alexis first discovered yoga in college while fulfilling a physical education elective. What began as a casual introduction quickly became an integral part of her lifestyle, evolving into a practice that supported her through the demands of graduate school and major life transitions.
As she moved to different states for work, yoga remained a constant in her life—so much so that proximity to a yoga studio became a key factor in deciding where to live. For years, Alexis aspired to complete a yoga teacher training, but it never seemed like the "right time." Ultimately, yoga itself taught her that there would never be a perfect moment, only the present one. In 2024, she completed her 200-hour training at Highland Yoga, deepening her commitment to both her personal practice and sharing yoga with others.
For Alexis, yoga is more than a physical practice—it is a mental and emotional exercise that fosters self-connection and balance in daily life. She believes in the beauty of the yoga journey, embracing continuous growth and exploration while never taking herself too seriously.
Outside of teaching, Alexis has built a career in healthcare, where she is passionate about equitable access to care. This mission extends into her yoga teaching, where she strives to create inclusive, welcoming spaces that empower students of all backgrounds to explore their own paths in yoga.
