Our Trauma-Informed Approach
Yoga that helps you feel safe, connected, and whole.
At Total Practice, we offer something different. This isn’t just yoga for flexibility or fitness. This is yoga as a path to healing.
Our classes are rooted in trauma-informed care and nervous system regulation. Which means we teach with the understanding that—whether we’ve experienced big traumas or the daily micro-stresses of modern life—many of us are walking around with nervous systems that are stuck in survival mode.
Anxiety, depression, chronic pain, IBS, ADHD, migraines, insomnia, burnout—beneath many of these symptoms is one common thread: dysregulation in the nervous system. And yoga, when practiced with care, can help bring us back into balance.
What makes our approach different?
Most yoga studios focus on the external: mastering poses, building strength, pushing limits. We’re doing something else entirely.
Here, we’re more interested in what’s happening inside. How does a pose feel in your body? What’s your breath telling you? Are you noticing tension? Or finding space? Our goal isn’t performance. It’s presence.
In every class, we:
Offer choices, not commands—because agency is essential for healing.
Use language that’s invitational and supportive, never forceful.
Teach tools for self-regulation—like breath, movement, stillness, and sensation.
Hold space for all parts of you, including the tender and messy ones.
This practice is for you if...
You’ve felt disconnected from your body—or never quite felt safe in it.
You’re healing from trauma, burnout, chronic stress, or long-standing health challenges.
You live with ADHD, anxiety, depression, or high sensitivity.
You want a yoga practice that meets you with compassion, not pressure.
You’re craving community, grounding, and a space to truly be yourself.
We believe:
When you feel safe, you can soften.
When you can soften, you can heal.
And when you can heal, you can begin to live from a place of wholeness and power.
This is the heart of our practice.
This is Total Practice Yoga.
